Sand Del Lee Eastern ANQ/MMRS Provincial/Ironman Challenge Photo Report

MX101 and MMRS jointly put together a weekend chalked full of fun and some great racing to boot. The Sand Del Lee Eastern ANQ/MMRS Provincial Round 6 and Ironman Challenge managed to wedge in nearly 900 entries and both clubs can claim an extremely successful weekend. The MMRS club shifted its course and took up camp this past weekend at Sand Del Lee MX Park, just outside of Ottawa. That meant MMRS crew chief, John Maguire, didn’t have to be chained to a dozer all weekend and could watch from the other side of the fence for a change. He got to let the MX101 boys do their thing and they worked hard to make sure the track was in mint condition. Great job on the irrigation system, Johnny Grant (relieved to hear it’s functioning properly)
It’s so nice to see clubs working together to provide their members with a quality venue for all levels of riding. Congratulations on a successful event and we are all looking forward to the next MX101 Ironman on June 7th at Muttco Mountain. Thanks, Kevin Tyler and Johnny! Here are a few ‘Faces from the Races…’
Omemee, Ontario, native, Brent Thirnbeck went 5th overall both Saturday and Sunday.
Chewing things up in the first corner. I always smile when I see that blue plate creeping up through the pack.

Trenton, Ontario’s Jesse Morgan went 3rd and 1st overall this weekend in the Plus 25 class.
Connor Arsenault remained dominant, sweeping the entire weekend.

#55 Nick Jones had loads of style out there and took the overall in MX3 Intermediate on Saturday.
A little toolbox love.
Kevin Tyler surveying from the finish line tower.
All thumbs up after a solid moto.
Gate prep dads doing their thing. Dig a little deeper there Rick!
All business in front…
Staging off in the shade. Couldn’t have asked for a better weekend.
Cody McKague went 2-2 in School Boy (12-16)
There was no lack of talented ladies out on the track this weekend.
Emilie-Jade Leveille went 2nd and 10th in the Ladies class.
Quinn Amyotte leading the way down the back section.
Johnny Grant holding court at Sunday riders’ meeting.

A little jump on the gate.
There were stacked gates that made for some great battles.
Always a treat to watch this guy ride. Dylan Wright still as smooth as always out there. All the best for you at Kamloops next weekend.
Another local, favourite fast guy, Liam O’Farrell. Liam went 1st and 2nd in the ProAm class this weekend.
#751 Donny Turner. Another one of those guys to keep an eye on.
Kevin Tyler out cheering on riders and not just his own I might add.
The #122 of Mike Matthews.
Young Sebastien Racine swept both 50 Pee Wee (7-8) and 65 Pee Wee (7-8).
#8 Allie Argue is riding on a whole other level going 1-1 and I’m pretty sure she spanked a few boys over the course of the weekend as well. That’s what we like to see!
Don’t let size fool you. Little Megan Byrom can really twist that throttle and the future of women’s mx is alive and well.
Geoff giving Westen Wrozyna some sage advice. Run fast, Westen! See you at the races…
