Rockwell Time Inc. Signs Zac Commans and Trevor Reis for 2017
(November 16, 2016) – Rockwell Watches in partnership with PHNX Racing Co. is proud to announce that Team Rockwell will field Zac Commans and Trevor Reis for the 2017 Monster Energy 250 West Supercross Series.
With support from Mitch Payton and Pro Circuit for the majority of his young career, Commans will return to the Kawasaki brand after a stint with KTM during his rookie SX season. Excited to be back on a green bike for 2017, Commans has had a full off-season on the all-new 2017 Kawasaki KX250F and seems poised to turn heads as a second-year pro. “I am ecstatic to be back with Kawasaki for this upcoming West Coast Series. The first 250 I mounted as an amateur was a Kawasaki and I spent several years with the brand, so I knew I would feel right at home going back this year. The bike is phenomenal and I am honestly feeling better than ever and I can’t wait to get back under lights this January,” states Commans.
Joining Commans will be veteran privateer Trevor Reis. After taking some time away from racing due to injury, Reis made a splash in 2015 and 2016 with multiple main event finishes. He was, at times, going bar to bar with factory riders while receiving minimal support out of his van and keeping a full time job during the week. With the support of Rockwell Time Inc., team officials feel Reis is ready to take that next step in his career. Reis, the national #86, mirrors his teammate’s excitement, “I’m really looking forward to working with everyone at Team Rockwell. After racing the last two seasons on my own, landing on a solid team is a great feeling. I’m ready to put in the work and use the added support to get solid results. I want to thank everyone who has helped me get to this point in my career. I’m very fortunate to be going racing again in 2017 and excited to work with the new team and our sponsors.”
Team Manager Chris Elliott was quick to speak highly of his two riders, “Zac and Trevor are both tremendous Supercross talents with the speed and skill that we feel gives us a shot to be competitive every weekend. When putting this team together over the summer, Ryan (Clark) and myself were thrilled we were able to work something out for both of these guys. Our partners and management cannot wait for the gate to drop in January!”
