Who/what inspired you to get into the sport of motocross and how long have you been racing/riding?
My parents both raced before and after I was born so I basically grew up at the track. From the time I was little it’s all I remember wanting to do. I started riding at 2 and raced my first race when I was 3.
As a racer, are there any obstacles you feel a female racer has to deal with that maybe a male racer does not?
No, not really. I mean, we can run the boys’ classes plus we get our own. I do feel it’s harder for a female racer to get spots on the amateur teams as well as the pro factory teams here in the United States because the WMX is not as popular as some of the women’s racing in other countries.
From your first ride to where you are now what is something you never thought you would be able to overcome but have?
I honestly can’t think of anything. I mean, I think every kid is scared of jumping when they first start but I never thought I wouldn’t overcome it.
Who is your all-time favourite rider and why?
Ty Masterpool because has overcome so much in his career and never gives up on himself or his program. He dedicates every ride to his brother Jesse (Masterpool) who passed away racing.
What is your favourite track and why?
Glen Helen because I love the big hills.
What event do you look forward to most every year? What’s one you don’t ever want to miss?
Definitely, Loretta Lynn’s!
Who has been your biggest inspiration/hero on and off the track?
Jordan Jarvis, hands down. She has always been there for me on and off the track.
Do you have any pre-moto rituals?
I like to listen to music before I race, but when I’m on the gate I always pound my fist on my bar pad and then point to the sky to give thanks to God.
What are your plans for this upcoming season? Any specific events you’re looking forward to?
I’m finishing this year out with Mini O’s and some amateur SX.
What are your biggest accomplishments to date?
I have 7 AMA Championships and finished 9th at Loretta’s in the girls (11-16) class in 2023.
What is the biggest lesson that motocross racing has taught you so far?
That you can’t always control everything and not to give up.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I don’t know that’s a long time from now, but hopefully racing professionally.
Are there any females out there who you feel have paved the way for other girls to be successful in motocross?
I feel Vicki Golden and Jordan Jarvis have both helped pave the way for female racers.
If you ever have children will you give them the option to race as well?
Oh, for sure, if that’s what they want to do.
If you could give 1 piece of advice to a female of any age who wants to start riding what would it be?
Keep it pinned! Haha. No, I would tell them to not give up and make sure they run the boys’ classes ,don’t just race the girls. You get faster racing the boys.
What was your first fear when you started riding and how did you overcome it?
Jumping, definitely. Just doing it over and over again and the fear finally went away. My dad built me some small jumps at the house when I was on 50’s and made them bigger as I progressed.
What was your first race number and how did you choose it?
638. It was my mom and dad’s race numbers added together. My mom was 172 and my dad was 466. I stayed 638 until 2 years ago I decided to keep my Loretta’s number 63. I raced with number 9 this year at Loretta’s because that’s what I placed in 2023!
Do you see yourself ever competing in the Canadian WMX Triple Crown series?
Yes, that would be awesome.
What are your thoughts on the Canadian WMX Triple Crown?
I think it’s a really good event for the female racers and something I look forward to doing.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to race professionally and I also want to own my own gear company.
Who would you like to thank?
Really everyone who has ever helped me this is such a tough sport. But for sure my mom and dad, Fasthouse Hotwheels team, Adventure Moto for helping me with bikes, EMT racing for my motor work, Bell helmets, ASV inventions, FMF, Mika metals, Rob Fox with Dunlop, 100%, Greg at Game Moto, my Mini and G, and my boyfriend Kash and his family for all their support.
