Who/what inspired you to get into the sport of motocross and how long have you been racing/riding?
My mom inspired me to get into racing after I started riding in 2020, and we have so much fun. All my moto friends that I’ve met encourage and support me. My teammates and parents of United MX always help push me to ride harder and ways to ride better. I have been riding since I was 5, and racing since I was 6.
When not on a dirt bike how do you keep yourself busy? Are you involved in any other sports or extracurricular activities?
When I’m not on my bike, I like to run cross country. I love to go boxing and snowboarding in the winter.
As a racer, are there any obstacles you feel a female racer has to deal with that maybe a male racer does not?
I think there are more classes for boys than girls, but it’s fun to race the boys.
From your first ride to where you are now what is something you never thought you would be able to overcome but have?
I used to have a fear of passing people but now that I’m learning to ride my 65 I feel like I have more power to pass other riders.
Who is your all-time favourite rider and why?
Tristan Dares (Coony) is my all-time favourite rider. I have been lucky enough to be trained by him for a few years. He always encourages me and inspires me to ride harder and believe in myself.
What is your favourite track and why?
Walton Raceway is my favourite track. I really like the hills and the way they groom it.
What event do you look forward to most every year? What’s one you don’t ever want to miss?
I look forward to the AMO Awards because I like to see how great my friends and I do after all our hard work, and that Ryan Gauld does yummy dinner and fireworks after the awards ceremony.
Who has been your biggest inspiration/hero on and off the track?
My mom. When things are tough she always encourages met to get through it. She shows me that working hard pays off and that I should always try my best. She always tells me she believes in me.
Do you have any pre-moto rituals?
I like to listen to music and I do a pre-moto selfie with my mom before every race. My mom always tells me “Ride hard, have fun, love you” and we fist bump.
What are your plans for this upcoming season? Any specific events you’re looking forward to?
I plan on racing AMO this year, learning to ride my 65 better, and improving my lap times.
What are your biggest accomplishments to date?
I earned 5th place in girls at AMO and 2nd place at BRMX last season.
What is the biggest lesson that motocross racing has taught you so far?
To never give up. And if you work really hard you can achieve all of your goals.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see myself racing, training other kids, travelling with my dirt bike, and maybe race a Supercross.
What kind of track/dirt do you feel you excel at most and why?
I like clay the best usually because it’s not as slippery as sand and not as difficult as muddy ruts.
If you ever have children will you give them the option to race as well?
Yes, of course, if they wanted to. I think everybody should have a chance to try what they want to do.
If you could give 1 piece of advice to a female of any age who wants to start riding what would it be?
Get good safety equipment and go to riding camps or get a trainer. Try your hardest and know that you’re going to have a lot of fun.
What was your first fear when you started riding and how did you overcome it?
Falling was my biggest fear… I fell a lot! My mom says I’m the Queen of falling. I learned how to fall without hurting myself too badly which makes me not as afraid to fall anymore.
What was your first race number and how did you choose it?
20 was my first race number. And it’s mine, my mom’s, and my grandma’s birthday.
Do you see yourself ever competing in the Canadian WMX Triple Crown series?
Yes, of course, I hope that I can get top 3 one day!
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to be a motocross rider, a mx trainer, and a pilot.
Who would you like to thank?
My mom, my family, my Teammates and parents of United MX, Tristan Dares & his family, all my Moto friends we have met and my all my buddies at AMO & BRMX, everyone who has encouraged me and helped me along the way.
And of course my sponsors:
