When not on a dirt bike, how do you keep yourself busy? Are you involved in any other sports or extracurricular activities?
Off of my dirt bike I am very active. I spend a lot of my time in the gym with friends. This year I discovered that I really enjoy running and have picked that up as a hobby! During the winter I play competitive club volleyball as well as many school sports as I can: volleyball, basketball , soccer, cross country, and ringette!
From your first ride to where you are now what is something you never thought you would be able to overcome but have?
My fear of jumping! Coming from a woods background, jumps were very intimidating for me because I had never done anything like that before. Now I can say I feel somewhat comfortable doing them!
Who is your all-time favourite rider and why?
Some of my favourite riders are Ken Roczen (we named our dog after him) and Adam Cianciarulo! Both riders traversed some huge hardships but continued to fight their way to the top and never gave up. They both have positive energy and great attitudes. They are both huge motivations to me and I aspire to be as strong as them one day!
What is your favourite track and why?
I would definitely have to say my favourite tracks are Praire Hill (Pilot Mound, MB) and Deschambault. Both are very different but produce the same amount of fun! I feel super-comfortable on these tracks and find that they have an awesome flow which puts them on another level.
Do you have any pre-moto rituals?
One of my pre-moto rituals that I have just started doing recently is listening to Casey Cochran‘s pos-race interview after his first podium at Millville. It is super-inspirational and helps me make sure I’m in the proper mindset before I get behind the gate.
What are your biggest accomplishments to date?
My biggest accomplishments would probably be the back-to-back third place finishes in the 2024 Thor WMX Series as well and 4th overall in the Thor WMX East Coast championship!
What kind of track/dirt do you feel you excel at most and why?
I think I excel the most in hard-pack dirt with lots of ruts. That’s what I ride the most back home in Manitoba so I have lots of practice on it!
What do you want to be when you grow up?
In September I’ll be starting my journey to becoming a physiotherapist at the University of Manitoba.
Who would you like to thank?
I would like to thank my mom and dad for making my dreams possible. This season the Brodeur family has taken me in and it’s been instrumental in my development (un grand merci à ma deuxième famille). I’m also surrounded by a community of the best people who believe in me. Jamie, Brett, Cory, Corey, Orlando, Dave, Jessie, Leon, DJ , Jay and Jon, you’ve been in my corner forever and I’m thankful.
