Who inspired you to get into the sport of motocross and how long have you been racing/riding?
My parents got me into riding bikes. They rode a little bit as well and then it just carried on. I got on a bike when I was 3 and I decided to start racing when I was 15.
When not on a dirt bike, how do you keep yourself busy? Are you involved in any other sports or extracurricular activities?
In my spare time I love to go camping and if I’m not doing that I’ll be snowboarding or playing ball hockey.
What is your favourite track and why?
Lethbridge track in Alberta. It has heavy sand and hard pack sections and the huge natural elevation changes makes the track like a roller coaster. You are able to practice almost everything on it.
What are your plans for this upcoming season? Any specific events you’re looking forward to?
I’m excited to try another new style of racing this year. I’m going to try Enduro hare-scrambles. So I can’t wait to see what it teaches me to help succeed on the motocross track.
What are your biggest accomplishments to date?
I would say mine were getting out of my comfort zone and trying to race the Rimbey AX and meeting amazing racing buddies, and going to other provinces to practice/ race new tracks that I didn’t think where possible for me.
What is the biggest lesson that motocross racing has taught you so far?
To not give up! There is always a girl looking at you, and if you are in a hard spot or a rough time there is always a way out. It’s not always about winning, it’s about improving yourself each practice/race.
If you could give 1 piece of advice to a female of any age who wants to start riding what would it be?
Don’t be afraid to ask any questions. All the girls and ladies are here to help.
What are your thoughts on the Canadian WMX Triple Crown?
I love racing this series. It has helped build me to the racer that I am now. So many women have put lots of work into the women’s series that it is an honour to even be able to line up with some of the greats!
