Without getting into details, I’m sorry this week’s MMC is late. I’m still out looking after my mom and things did not go smoothly last night or this morning. Hopefully, mom will actually go to bed at some point out here in Kamloops today. 🥱
Hopefully, a bunch of you have received your Direct Motocross/Team Canada MXON tee shirts in the mail. I tried to mail out a bunch more the Monday I left London but Canada Poste was closed for Remembrance Day. I left a rather large pile for Emily to mail but she was working and then when she had a chance Canada Poste went on strike. So, I’ll be home on Friday and will try to get as many as I can sent out.
If you haven’t received yours yet, and didn’t give me your address, please send that over to me in a direct message either on Instagram or Facebook.
Did you fall for the Mike Tyson/Jake Paul fight? I sure hope you didn’t pay to watch it! We got it on Netflix so I took the time to check in. I even watched a few of the preliminary fights, which were great.
If you’re like me, you grew up watching Tyson fights in awe and terror. I’ve been a boxing fan all my life and nobody has ever given me that frightened feeling just watching them walk into the ring like Tylson did back in his heyday.
He used to enter wearing just a towel with a hole cut in it for his head to go through. When he entered the ring Friday night, it was cool that he did the same thing. Unfortunately, that’s where the likeness of the old “Iron Mike” left the building.
I guess we all knew this wasn’t really going to be like an actual title fight or anything, but the pre-fight talk led you to believe that it would still be a real fight…you know, one where they throw punches.
If you’ve been scrolling social media since the fight, you may have been caught in the comment section like me. There are some theories about Mike owing people a lot of money and so he couldn’t win the fight. There are others that simply say he’s too old to beat the 25-year-old Paul.
The first one makes sense but the second does not, to me. Mike didn’t throw any punches.
My key takeaway is that NOBODY should ever give Jake Paul the opportunity to make them look like a fool again. And I’m talking about anyone involved in the fight. Don’t let this “Content Creator/Influencer” get away with this crap ever again. EVER.
I had to have the fight on the TV and the first round of the AMA Arenacross Championship on the laptop. Other people joined me in wasting time watching the “fight.”
#66 Vince Friese looks to be the one to beat in the series but #200 Ryan Breece left Reno with the points lead. #1 Kyle Peters is going for yet another title before walking away. What I’m saying is, this season looks like it’ll be one to pay close attention to!
They changed the format and did away with the Semis where only 1 rider moved on. Unfortunately, I think the program is still a bit too long. And that’s ME saying that! I’m also not a fan of multi-main indoor races. I think people come to arenas and stadiums to watch riders try to get into the Main and then see who the winner is right then and there.
For me, the two-moto format is for people who head to MX tracks to spend the day in the weather and watch a full day of racing.
Those are just my $.02.
Canadian #943 Noah Viney is racing the series for the MCR Honda team and he sits 8th after the first 2 rounds. Here’s a look at the point standings after 2 rounds of racing in Reno, Nevada(Friday/Saturday night):

Canadians Dominate AMA Endurocross
Next on the hit list here in Canada is the AMA Arenacross Championship in Chilliwack, BC. Racing goes 4 rounds the next 2 weekends. WLTN Kawasaki rider Quinn Amyotte will run the #1 plates this time. I like to poke fun at Parker Eales because he chose to not run them last year after the series changed hands from Future West Moto to AMO. I still think he should have!
Some of the riders are already out in BC getting some riding in and most jumped on the BC Ferries and headed to the Sunshine Coast. Check out this post from Parker:
Unfortunately, Julien Benek won’t be there on his new MVP International Triumph but his teammate Blake Davies will. It sucks that I’ll actually be leaving BC on Friday before heading down to the Mini O’s but we’ll make sure we get coverage of the event up on DMX.
We got our first hard frost out here in Kamloops this week and I know that the weather is changing all across the country. Tracks near my house in London are either just closed or are on the verge of closing, so get your riding in ASAP before the snow flies!
It’s Frid’Eh Update #47 this week and that means we’ll have an interview up with Jerry Lorenz who has been coming up to Canada for many years, so watch for that one.
Have a great week, everyone, and thanks for understanding my troubles trying to keep everyone updated as I spend the next few days looking after my mom.
See you at the races…
