Matt Goerke’s Gopher Dunes Crash Sequence

#1 Rockstar Energy OTSFF Fly Dragon Yamaha rider, Matt Goerke, has to be considered one of the best sand track riders anywhere. Watching him craftily carve his way around the rough Gopher Dunes track always leaves spectators with mouths agape in awe and disbelief. However, even the best can be bitten by what is known as one of the, if not the, toughest tracks in North America.

This 4-photo sequence, although a little out of focus, is a great example of what good safety gear is there for. We’re not here to tell you what to do, but take a look at how Matt got up and rode away from a crash that really could have been a lot worse this past Sunday during practice at round 5 of the Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals.
