LAMINACORR Racing to Partner with CXCC for “Ride Like a Girl” Purse Program
LAMINACORR Racing to Partner with CXCC for “Ride Like a girl” purse program
Cornwall, ON (May 01, 2015) – Laminacorr Racing is thrilled to announce their collaboration with World Enduro Canada (“WEC”) for participation in the Canadian Cross Country Championship (“CXCC”). This is the only National off-road series supporting the ‘Ride like a Girl’ contingency program.
During the 2015 season, the CXCC will consist of ten rounds across Canada. These rounds are separated to include four Western Canada events (CXCC West) with two in British Columbia and two in Alberta. The CXCC East will include six rounds in Ontario. These events attract around 100 riders per event.
Over the last ten years, the series has become known for their support and commitment to increasing the number of female racers at the top level of racing. CXCC currently runs one class for women, which draws an average of ten women riders per event.
Racers in the women’s class across all ten of the CXCC East and West rounds will have an opportunity to benefit from the ‘Ride like a Girl’ program, with a $200 purse to be shared amongst the top three finishers at each race. It is anticipated that with additional exposure and funding from the ‘Ride like a Girl’ program, more women will come out and compete.
The type of racing offered at CXCC events is family oriented and is geared towards all ages and skill levels, with a National Champion crowned in every class from Pee Wee to Pro and of course Women.
