Faces at the Races | 2025 East Rutherford Supercross

By Billy Rainford

Let’s have a look at Round 14 of the 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series from a slightly less “racy” view in this week’s ‘Faces at the Races‘ column.

I keep having to remind myself that #88 is Devin Simonson back from injury up near the front.
The Ducati 450 is making the rounds.
Spotted Canuck, John McKenney.
Chilliwack, BC representing! #2 Adalynn Olsen.
It’s a complicated relationship with Julien Perrier.
I haven’t seen Tyler Bowers at a race in a while.
I look at him and all I can hear is, “Scott Yargeau, Moto Now Blog…”
#83 Austin Forkner looked like he was back to form early in the day. He ended up 7th in the Main which is a step in the right direction.
Realizing his potential in 2025 is #56 Seth Hammaker. Wow.
Pretty cool that #122 Justin still gets to see his dad at every race.
The double whoops section proved to be difficult for riders throughout the entire field. This is #35 Marshal Weltin taking his turn hitting the ground. As you can see, I was holding the camera with the big lens when it happened right next to me. Marshal looked banged up for a few seconds then dusted himself off and got back to qualifying.
People asking why someone in the top 10 doesn’t grab a 250 2-stroke and rip up the class. It’s because the manufacturers aren’t pushing these bikes at this level. It sure would make things sound better tho.
#812 Luke Dickey from Texas having some fun heading out for practice.
That’s Luke Renzland hanging out in the pits. He says he’s busy digging holes these days.
What a drag that the 2-time World Champion got hurt so early this SX season.
How many Pro Circuit employees does it take to…
Great to see Partzilla PRMX rider #78 Cade Clason back from his arm injury in Tampa. But where’s his goggle guy???
Love is in the air for Canadian Ethan Ouellette.
Sorry, Cade, we got you already. I did cycle a ‘Reverse Clason’ the other day.
9th place SX guy #208 Logan Leitzel with Canadian WMX East Champion Jamie Astudillo. She’ll be back for at least the east in 2025.
Eli-less MX and SX just isn’t the same.
Anyone own anything in this line-up?
Aaron Plessinger always gets the loudest cheer during opening Ceremonies, but it was a lot closer this week. Oddly, Chase Sexton and Cooper Webb don’t get the cheers some of the others get.
Spotted Canuck!
Speaking of opening ceremonies…
Let’s have another mudder in Pittsburgh and talk about #735 Dayton Briggs again.
That’s #351 Jack Rogers all smiles before hitting the track.
Who are these guys, you ask? #689 TONY USKO Doylestown, OH, #346 CHARLES TOLLESON IV Crosby, TX, #376 THOMAS WELCH Charlotte Hall, MD, #427 COLE BRADFORD
Tampa, FL.
#129 Lane Shaw had a brief taste of the front before messing up in the 2nd rhythm section and dropping back.
Dad cheering on young #2 Adalynn Olsen in the KTM Junior SX.
#94 Ken Roczen and #4 Chase Sexton chatting before gate drop.
#10 Chance Hymas hit the ground pretty hard here.
The double whoops were a problem for everyone in Jersey.
Trouble for #62 Mark Fineis.
“Ooh, Jerry? He’s got cameras all over these woods…”
The air bag protector after deployment.
Proud momma look.
These guys have been doing a lot of winning lately.
#14 Dylan Ferrandis was Capital H Hurting after the 450 Main.
Love the look on Ian Harrison’s face here.
30-second gal, Brown Dog Wilson.
Post-race press conference.
I joked about a photo I got of #711 Tristan Lane with his dad last week where they weren’t looking at each other. He tried to outsmart me this week by giving his dad an affectionate kiss on the forehead…
…but it’s my column so I get the last word and messed with the order to make even this look bad! 🤣 Go ahead and say it, Tristan: “See you at the races…
