Hey, guys. I was DMX’s test rider for the Yamaha 2025 line up put on by Yamaha Motor Canada at Sand Del Lee. I’m here to tell you a little bit about my Ride Day experience on and off the bikes.
The guys from Yamaha really set up an awesome day for us. It started off with a presentation telling us about their new line up and the changes they have made to this years bikes. After that it was time to get on the track.
They had 2 YZ 450F’s, 2 YZ 250F’s, and 1 YZ 125.
Starting with the 125, changes include a new bar pad and updated radiator.
I haven’t been on a 125 in a while but man it was fun to ride one again. The bike handled great and is perfect for anyone moving up to a big bike or for someone who is not ready for the power of a 250 yet.
Moving on to the YZ 250F, changes include a revised suspension, new linkage, a newly designed electric start, kill switch, map selection buttons, all new throttle tube, and a new foot peg bracket design.
No complaints here with this bike. Yamaha did a great job with this one. Noticeably better handling due to the suspension and linkage changes. Cornering feels good, great power on and off the gate! I think its a perfect bike for the weekend warrior and racer.
Last but not least the YZ 450F.
This year’s changes include revised suspension, new linkage, revised engine mounts, a new clutch design, new throttle tube, and a new foot peg bracket design.
The first thing I noticed while riding this 450 was the power. Man, this thing is fast! The power is definitely on the hard-hitting side. The suspension and linkage changes they have made has improved the handling. However, I think it could be a bit better in the corners as it sometimes likes to stand up. Other than that, the bike was great. If you’re looking for a bike with plenty of power, this is a solid option!
Thanks so much to DMX and everyone involved in the Yamaha Ride Day. It was a well organized event and lots of fun.
See you at the track!
