#2015 Mini O’s Photo Report – Tuesday
By Billy Rainford
Day 2 is in the books. The big deal today was making sure your finishes were good enough to put you in Wednesday’s finals. The Thor Winter Olympics are divided in to a Supercross and then a Motocross portion. The first 3 days are on the Supercross track and each class has a Main Event instead of two motos.
Some of our Canadian riders missed making it into the very competitive mains and some did very well. The weather is getting warmer and it was perfect for racing today. It should start to get hot tomorrow, with temperatures creeping into the upper 20’s C.
Here’s a look at Tuesday in Florida.
Thanks to:
#424 Austin Watling is starting to get used to winning. He had 2 wins under his belt today before I’d even had a cup of coffee! He will be the favourite in his 250 and 450 C class main events tomorrow. – Nicholson photo
If you’re looking for some great video highlights, give Matt Wozney’s site, MXPTV a click.
#329 Matthew Leblanc has looked great in all his 65cc races.
The Supermini races have a lot of talent too. Check out #604 Max Miller powering his way to the front.
#936 is young Ty Masterpool. He’s only 4 feet tall but rides with more skill and aggression than anyone else out there. He’s fun to watch.
Some FXR Can-Con. #44 is Nolan Heppner and he’s up near the front in the B classes.
#82 Garrett Marchbanks hasn’t lot yet in those B classes.
I wish this was a video clip of #223 Parker Mashburn because this berm blast was impressive.
#101 Matthew Cemovic needed a good race to get into the Supermini main.
#10 Jeremy Ryan has some great style.
That will come in handy…
Ben Mistelbacher doing his best to make it into Wednesday’s main event.
Regina’s #21 Carter Stuart did his best to make the mains too.
#667 Tyler Kirby doing his best.
It’s pretty daunting to go up against Haiden Deegan.
Thomas Rendall gets some last-minute advice and reassurance from his dad, Reese.
He needed a good start in the LCQ and he got one.
We think the top 6 moved on, and he got 5th, so…
#9 Daniel Scott was on the gas.
Pigtails AND a ponytail?
Swoll had troubles in the first race and had to go through the Supermini LCQ.
I’m sure she’s heard them all.
#46 Marco Cannella got some help from Joey Crown.
It was wall to wall Crown up in there!
He needed to get off to a great start in the competitive class.
He did it and held on for the win over Brock Papi.
How many Mini O’s has he missed, you think?
Moto Mom socks…why not?
Mitch Goheen needed to race the 250 C LCQ. Nick Jones is on the mend so he volunteered to manfriend.
We said, I’ve got three words for you Mitch: Holeshot.
He was up in 2nd spot in the 2nd corner and his bike just stopped on him.
They got him going again in time to catch the last 1/2 lap. He won’t be in the 250 C main Wednesday.
Waiting to sell some Funnel Cakes.
Matthew needed a great start to move on to Wednesday.
He got it and had a great race.
As lines developed, some inside info was very beneficial.
Tyler getting some tips too.
The mini parents zone. It gets pretty tense in that area.
That was it for the racing. We had some wins and lots of qualifying. It’s all main events tomorrow. Mitch has a really cool ‘Bigwave’ mask. It was a bit awkward though. He wore it out for dinner.
OK, that’s it for today. It’s all about SX results tomorrow. Thanks for looking.
